Food
Please have something to eat before getting on the coach on Saturday, there is no eating on the Coach and water only to be drunk.
There is no need to bring any food, we will provide brioche for breakfast and will get a sandwich for all for Lunch whilst travelling.
Travel
Uniform and International Necker to be worn at all times when not on the Coach. Please bare in mind the weather in Kandersteg is likely to be cooler and possibly wetter than when we leave. Please ensure you have waterproofs available and warmer clothes to hand.
Friday
13:30 – 15:00 – Food Shopping – (Steve, Adrian)
15:00 – 17:00 – Sort Kitchen kit/food into hut – (Steve, Adrian)
18:00 – 19:30 – Steve/Leaders will be at the hut for Passports, GHIC cards, Money (Cash/Cards), Medicines to be handed in and you can collect your t-shirt/hoody & bag for cutlery.
Saturday
15:00 – Load van at hut with kitchen equipment/food/tents – all leaders to bring tents Fri eve (Steve, Adrian, Robert with van)
18:00 – Kitchen equipment/tents to arrive at Longsands School
18:30 – Scouts arrive with personal kit at Longsands School (Kit rucksack and Day rucksack) – Uniform and international Necker to be worn (Necker will be issued when you arrive)
19:00 – Coach leaves
Kit List
Scouts should help pack their bags so they know where everything is.
Please put names on everything and practice packing roll mats and sleeping bags.
Essentials
Trainers – For some of the activities – Suggest packing in your rucksack
Hiking boots – with ankle support due to the terrain – for some of the activities – Suggest wearing on the way
Long trousers (not jeans) – One of the activities requires long sleeves and trousers to be worn to prevent friction burns.
Waterproof coat and trousers – yes it looks like some rain in the week
20-30 litre rucksack for day trips – to be taken on coach
2 x Large water bottles – 1 litre or above
